Arsenal shows character at Emirates and rises to top
Gunners sufferred early blows in the match by Bolton taking a 2-0 lead through a wonderful strike from Cahill and well finished penalty by Taylor. Arsenal always looked a real force in the match. Denilson and Walcott was fit again. Denilson started in the match and was the one conceeding the penalty which brought the best out of the fighters in the squad if we take the best part of the match.
Almunia
Sagna-Gallas-Vermaelen-Clichy
Fabregas-Denilson-Diaby
Rosicky-Arshavin-Eduardo
The first goal was conceeded by Clichy after a blunder committed while clearing a ball. He had hit the ball high in air inside Arsenal box itself which helped Bolton to capitalize. After the second goal Bolton might have thought they had a match in hand now. But it was all denied by the start of fireworks from Rosicky from a good layout and setup by Fabregas. After the half time Fabregas himself dribbled past defenders and scored from a very tight ankle with three defenders behind him and goalkeeper diagonal to him.
We were surely missing the control and passing of Alex Song in the match. Denilson got few chances to take advantage but all his shots where not accurate. Maybe he was mentally affected by the penalty he conceeded early in the match. Diaby looked ordinary with very less runs from him. Third goal came from the mighty left foot of Vermaelen from a beautiful headed pass by Diaby which layed out for a decent volley. Arshavin finished off the match in style with five minutes to spare. He also missed a easy one on one chance which he himself could have finished or passed to Walcott who came on as a substitute for Eduardo. Vela got few minutes himself substituting Rosicky. Eastmond came on for Diaby who looked like was in some pain when he left the ground.
Gallas made few good runs to the final third and was often a goal threat in the set pieces. Fabregas was often fouled to break Arsenal rhythm but he kept his cool and helped gunners win in style. He was once again instrumental in setting up the victory for Arsenal. Clichy seems to be making quick runs but as a defender he was not making good use of his strengths.
We saw glimpses of Sol Campbell near the tunnel taking a peep into the match. He is one player we are expecting good commanding performances. He is expected to be match fit by this weekend and may play against Stoke City. He had been one of the best defenders in England, EPL, Arsenal and world sometime back. Hope he has the same qualities left in him. We are surely short of strikers on paper, but seeing the kind of goal scorers we have in the team it could be balanced. All our players are a goal threat and this is the best way to play attacking football rather than relying on few to do the job.
Arsenal players seems to be taking shifts with respect to injury. Hope we don't lose more players to injury when we are really in a good position to win the league for first time this season. Wenger should also concentrate on keeping the squad together for couple of years so that they are capable of winning everything.
